Main Menu
The main menu is generated by the KBBS software unless a custom
menu exists with the filename of "MAINMENU" or "MAINMENU.ANS".
E-Mail...
Callers can send and receive private messages using this area.
Messages...
Callers can post and read public messages using this area.
Forums & Files...
This area can have many additional areas known as Forum & File
Areas. Each of these Forum & File Areas can have their own
public message area and a file area where files can be kept for
downloading. The number of Forum & File Areas is unlimited,
except by the size of your hard disk.
User Statistics...
Callers can view and edit their own status, look up the names or
user id's of other users, and view a list of recent callers.
Door--Online Games...
Callers can access external programs and/or games that you setup.
These programs must be able to handle the modem and exit nicely
so that the modem remains intact when KBBS takes over again.
This area can be turned off so that it cannot be accessed and is
not shown on the "generated menu" by changing the "KBB.CFG" file
so that the "door=" switch is set to "door=off" or it can follow
LEVELS of permission (new, user, member, super, root) so that
only "privileged callers" can access this area.
Goodby (logoff)...
This allows callers to close the connection to your KBBS. If a
caller "hangs up" it doesn't cause a problem and works almost the
same as if they chose this option.
Custom Menu...
If you want to make your own "MAINMENU" then you need to include
the items above and use the same "keys" for selecting each area.
If you make a menu that includes [L]=Logoff, it will display ok,
but when callers hit the 'L' key, nothing will happen because the
software is expecting the 'G' key for goodby/logoff. Use a TEXT
(ASCII) only editor or the one in the System Access area to
created the file \KISSBBS\MAINMENU or \KISSBBS\MAINMENU.ANS.
